W.S. Cumby provided preconstruction and construction management service for the renovation of the historic Smith Memorial Playhouse & Playground.

The project scope included the replacement and restructuring of the 5,400 square foot first floor exterior terrace, which also serves as the roof of the lower level perimeter rooms; restoration of the lower level exterior walls including masonry restoration, reconstruction of the parapet wall, and door and window repair/replacement; comprehensive rehabilitation of the lower level including selective room reconfigurations to accommodate existing and proposed future programs, new restrooms, new lighting, and repair of finishes; comprehensive upgrade and replacement of mechanical, plumbing, electrical, fire protection and life safety systems for the Playhouse; site utilities including new underground electrical service and building drainage system; and a new sanitary connection from the Playhouse to the existing on-site septic infrastructure.
