Beaumont at Bryn Mawr

Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania

The planning and execution of a comprehensive renovation at a skilled care facility where the residents inhabit the construction site is no easy task. W.S. Cumby takes great pride in knowing that time and again its project team performs with the efficiency and sensitivity necessary to meet the needs of both the staff and the residents at Beaumont at Bryn Mawr.

Over the past twenty years, W.S. Cumby has completed multiple projects within this skilled nursing and assisted living complex‑—all without disruption to Beaumont’s schedule of operations. The series of improvements included the following projects:

Porte Cochere – Interior lobby renovation and the construction of a new car port.

Atrium Dining and Room – Construction of a new kitchen and atrium dining room.

Health Care Center Renovation – Renovation of 42 resident rooms and health center as well as the installation of a new HVAC system. The project was completed while the facility was occupied, all without disruption to Beaumont’s schedule of operations. Rooms were renovated in blocks of 4 +/– at a time.

Skilled Nursing Renovation/Nursing Wind Addition – Complete renovation to the core of this skilled care facility; it remained in full operation through construction. The project included a new nursing station, mechanical system, lighting, therapy spa and dining area.

Grille/Dining Room Addition – Addition to add two new dining facilities.

Historic Restoration / Adaptive Re-use – Historic restoration and renovation of the existing, 40,000 SF mansion, originally built 1915, for use as an assisted living facility. The renovation included private rooms with baths, living rooms and various support facilities on the second and third floor. All attempts were made to maintain the original integrity of the building.
