Mollie Dodd Anderson Library, The George School

Newtown, Pennsylvania

W.S. Cumby provided construction management services for the new Mollie Dodd Anderson Library at the George School. The academic library and classroom building provides flexibility for future changes in the School’s academic programs. It encompasses a reading room for 30,000 volumes, a special collections room, conference room, quiet study areas, offices, classrooms and gallery for student artwork. The new facility replaced an existing 1965 library and added a vibrant component to the campus of this coeducational boarding school.  Located on a site directly across the street from the historic Quaker Meeting House, a focal point on the school’s campus, the Library was constructed to blend with other buildings on campus, while serving as a model of sustainability.
