Flashback Friday: Mollie Dodd Anderson Library

The Mollie Dodd Anderson Library at The George School was built in 2009 with W.S. Cumby serving as Construction Manager.

The 26,400 SF academic library and classroom building provides flexibility for future changes in the School’s academic programs. It encompasses a reading room for 30,000 volumes, a special collections room, conference room, quiet study areas, offices, classrooms and gallery for student artwork. The facility replaced an existing 1965 library and added a vibrant component to the campus of this coeducational boarding school. Located on a site directly across the street from the historic Quaker Meeting House, a focal point on the school’s campus, the Library was constructed to blend with other buildings on campus, while serving as a model of sustainability. This project is LEED NC v2.2 Gold Certified.
