W.S. Cumby served Swarthmore College as Construction Manager at-Risk for the phased development of the Inn at Swarthmore as part of the Town Center West project. The Inn at Swarthmore offers 40 guestrooms and suites, a 24 hour front desk, a signature restaurant, private dining and flexible meeting spaces to accommodate groups and social events. Designed to LEED Silver standards, the project features a highly efficient building envelope, as well as floors and fixtures created using white oak reclaimed from the site. The public spaces are accented by art produced by College alumni, and each guestroom features a piece of student work that speaks to Swarthmore’s unique sense of place.

The multiple phases of the Town Center West project included the relocation of utilities and the College softball field, the construction of a new round-about on PA Route 320 in the heart of the Borough, the relocation of the College’s south entrance, the relocation of a student parking lot, and the construction of the new 43,000 SF Inn at Swarthmore. The Inn at Swarthmore is also the first project at Swarthmore College to implement an Economic Opportunity Plan in which W.S. Cumby met or exceeded the requirements.
