Demolition Begins at Sisters of St. Joseph Chapel

08.02.2018

Demolition has commenced at the Sisters of Saint Joseph Chapel located on the Chestnut Hill College campus in Chestnut Hill, Pennsylvania. W.S. Cumby is providing construction management services for updates and improvements to the space, which will allow for a more enriching environment for the Sisters’ daily life and worship.

The scope of work for this project includes renovations to the 5,400 SF chapel, including the reconfiguration of the elevated gothic-style altar and pew arrangement in order to improve accessibility and comfortably accommodate an assembly of 40-50. Formerly, the space was arranged in a Latin cross style with seating for over 400.

Additional improvements to the space include the thoughtful integration of new HVAC systems, lighting, and acoustics that will provide a more intimate and comfortable worship experience.
